The faces often represent all of Angkor. Very nice temple, but the given tours are much too long with more than one hour.

Also called the Temple of the 1000 Faces, in fact, the Bodhisattva Lokeshvara's face looks 216 times in all four directions

Next to Angkor Wat, the Bayon is the best known and most impressive temple complex in Angkor - famous above all for its towers with meter-high faces carved from stone.
The temple, long forgotten, was completely overgrown by jungle in the 15th century and was uncovered 400 years later by European archaeologists. The big towers with the faces are very impressive.
