The school was closed around 20 years ago because only the primary school in the Döbern school center was required. In contrast to the primary schools in Tschernitz and Groß Kölzig, no new use was found here. With one exception: in 2019, 150 emergency personnel practiced here for emergencies:

Has been empty for over 20 years, as a primary school is now only located in the Döbern school center. The "new building" is occasionally used for exercises by the fire department, dog squad, and THW. The "old building" had to be demolished after a fire on 13.10.2025, presumably arson.
