Pinole Point

The San Francisco Bay Trail: Point Pinole Loop offers a delightful mountain biking experience, guiding you through diverse landscapes from open grasslands to serene eucalyptus groves. You'll enjoy continuous, inspiring views of the San Francisco Bay and San Pablo Bay, with the prominent 1,250-foot fishing pier serving as a key landmark and a great spot to pause. This 4.5-mile (7.3 km) route is predominantly flat, making it an easy ride for all skill levels.

This trail is a fantastic option for a relaxed outing, taking approximately 29 minutes to complete with a gentle 127 feet (39 metres) of elevation gain. Parking is available, and a shuttle service can take you from the lot to the pier if you prefer. It's a well-maintained and accessible trail, perfect for a casual spin any time of year, though clear days offer the best panoramic views.

Beyond the scenic beauty, the Point Pinole Regional Shoreline holds historical significance as the former site of a large dynamite factory, with remnants still visible. The park is also a haven for wildlife, offering opportunities to spot deer, monarch butterflies, and various bird species, adding an extra layer of interest to your ride.
