    Running

This is a fantastic trail if you are looking for a long, peaceful run. The loop north of the junction is infrequently trafficked but has fantastic views of the reservoir and the canyon formations. The western trail is a faster singletrack that heads straight for the northern shore, while the eastern trail winds through the canyons along the edge of the reservoir.

    340m

The Voodoo and South Shore Loop offers a diverse jogging experience through Lake Pueblo State Park, showcasing expansive, sunny desert landscapes with scattered green bushes and distant mountains. You'll navigate varied terrain, from smooth singletrack on the Voodoo Trail winding through piñon and juniper woodlands to doubletrack and gravel roads, all while enjoying fantastic views of Lake Pueblo and unique canyon formations.

This difficult 22.4-mile (36.0 km) route involves 1126 feet (343 metres) of elevation gain and typically takes around 4 hours and 8 minutes to jog, making it best suited for those with very good fitness. Access requires a Colorado State Parks pass or a daily entrance fee, and dogs are welcome on leash. Be sure to carry ample water, as the trails are completely exposed to the sun, especially during summer.

Part of Lake Pueblo State Park's extensive South Shore Trail Network, this loop connects to other trails like Conduit and Cuatro Sinko, allowing for varied routes. The Voodoo Trail section is particularly known for its peaceful atmosphere and excellent reservoir views, especially the less-trafficked northern loop. It's a prominent option for a long, engaging run in the region.
