In 2019, an artwork by Patrick Visser was placed on the Dorpsplein as part of the 6th art route Zoeterwoude. It was made from 3000 kg of scrap iron. The statue would disappear after a few months, but the villagers were so taken with it that a campaign was launched to keep it. The municipality eventually bought it from the artist for €16,000. € 6,000 is for the account of the Art & Culture Foundation.
