The ice stadium was opened as an open-air stadium in 1967. Since the 2006/07 ice hockey season, with the promotion of the Straubing Tigers, the stadium has met the requirements for playing in the highest German ice hockey league (German Ice Hockey League - DEL). The stadium has a total capacity of 5,825 spectators, of which 1,543 are seated and 4,282 are standing. A VIP area is reserved for 400 visitors.

The ice rink at the Pulverturm is an indoor ice sports arena in the Lower Bavarian city of Straubing. It opened in 1967 and currently has a capacity of 5,635 spectators (1,661 seated and 3,974 standing). The Straubing Tigers ice hockey club, a member of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL), plays its home games here, as do the amateur and youth teams of EHC Straubing. The city of Straubing owns and operates the rink, while marketing and catering are handled by Straubing Tigers GmbH.
