It seems like this trail gets slightly rerouted every few years, thanks to patches of muddy ground and the erosion caused by frequent use. The trail itself is mostly a narrow dirt footpath with limited elevation gain or loss. However, it remains an enormously popular trail for both hikers and runners, despite the thick grass and cow parsnip — a plant whose sap can cause long-lasting, painful burns and blisters — that choke the trail in places.
