Most of the trails at Times Beach Nature Preserve are paved or are boardwalks, but this rocky section offers something a little different. You can still run the majority of it, but the trail kind of deteriorates right before you get to the end of it. It's still cool to be able to get so far out into the lake and right up next to the water, though.

Great day at Times Beach Nature Preserve. The trail was "closed," but we were able to easily bypass the blockage. There was a lot of driftwood on the trail, which made crossing difficult at times, but we managed. We made it to the "boardwalk," which was definitely in bad condition.
