Hiking
When you talk about "outing" in Rome, the lawns of Vivaro immediately come to mind. This vast plateau located 580 meters above sea level offers large green spaces where you can have pleasant picnics. From here many easy paths start in the woods of the Colli Albani, to reach the peaks of Mount Artemisa, Mount Faete and Mount Cavo. Modest peaks but perfect for winter or autumn walks, when the high Apennine peaks are covered in snow.
