This 1988 memorial reflects on Vietnam War daily life through symbolic rings. The outer ring lists the names, ranks and hometowns of the 5,822 fallen Californians. The inner ring depicts combat, friendship, imprisonment and medical care through four bronze statues, including the first memorialization of the 15,000 nurses and doctors who served.

This Victorian garden features over 650 roses in 153 varieties surrounding a central fountain. Visitors can stroll the pathways and relax on benches with inspirational messages from children. The elegant Peace Pavilion near the garden hosts public and private events.
