Hermann Eichblatt (collector and editor of local traditions) is among the early local researchers/collectors of the region. In 1925, he published (Verlag W. Gesellius, Demmin) the booklet Sagen aus Demmin und Umgebung (also as Sagen, Volksglaube und Bräuche aus Demmin und Umgegend). It contains local legends about Haus Demmin, witches, treasures, the Eulenkrug, the „Grot Hollgrund“, the three-legged hare, and other subjects from the city and its surroundings.
