Built in the first half of the 14th century by the Pomeranian dukes on the site of an earlier stronghold. Destroyed by the Brandenburgers in 1478. Rebuilt by Duke Bogusław X at the end of the 15th century. It was the seat of the prince's castellans. Rebuilt and surrounded by an embankment in the 16th century. Devastated by the Brandenburgers and Swedes in the 17th century. Abandoned and demolished at the end of the 18th century. A pile of rubble, foundation walls and a high defensive rampart have been preserved.
