Tranekær Castle is the oldest inhabited castle in Denmark. Its red facade catches the eye from afar because it stands on a hill. A beautiful circular path leads around the moats, where you can discover rare trees such as the swamp cypress. Admission to the castle park costs 25 DKK (approx. €3.50) and is freely accessible. Guided tours through the castle, however, must be booked separately.

This tour was actually planned differently. We also wanted to walk in the castle park 🦋 and around the castle 🏰. Unfortunately, the paths were closed ⛔ and the entrance to the park was expensive and could only be paid for with a purely Danish app 📲. A pity! It was nice anyway and the castle is a really worthwhile photo motif. 📸
