Road cycling
There are a few higher mountains here in Thuringia, but few that are so perfectly paved and not too steep, making them very easy to ride on a road bike. From the source of the Werra, the route goes downhill for a bit and then back up again. You can safely let your bike run on the descent.
You can climb the observation tower for €1. There's a turnstile with a coin slot. Great views in good weather, all the way to the Fichtel Mountains and the Rhön Mountains.
