The 42-meter-high observation tower, opened in 2016, offers a complete overview of the Saarschleife, including the river's turning point located directly below.
Until now, I only knew the Saarschleife from photos. But in person, the view of the elongated breakthrough valley of the Saar is absolutely overwhelming. It is definitely worth "screwing" your way up the observation tower step by step via the treetop path to be able to view the complete arc of the Saarschleife.

Impressive architecture. The gently sloping ramps make it easy to climb. However, the tower is so massive that it dominates the landscape. There are certainly skeptics who find the whole thing inappropriate.
