Woffelsbach was first mentioned in 1516 as Wolffelsauwell. The oldest preserved courtyards date from the 17th century. 1676/77 the village is mentioned as Woiffelsbach.

Hiking

As early as 1860, the Woffelsbach family decided to build their own chapel. They founded the chapel building association, today's chapel association, and began to save for the construction. Everyone had only the bare essentials for themselves and their families and so the project lasted 50 years! The building permit was granted in 1910, construction began in 1911 and on October 20, 1912 the chapel was inaugurated with great sympathy from the population.
