In 1951 the goose mill was shut down because the owner at the time was not a miller but a farmer.
The Gansmühle was demolished in 1961 as part of the construction of the dam. The demolition also ended the 600-year history of the Gansmühle.
Today, the water from the Pöhl dam overflows the ground at the site of the Gansmühle by 15 m.
