Himeji Station (Japanese 姫路駅 Himeji-eki) in the city of Himeji in Japan is a regionally important station of the former state railway company Japan Railways, and under the name Sanyō-Himeji the western terminus of the railway company San’yō Denki Tetsudō.
Himeji Station was built in 1888 by San’yō Tetsudō, which was nationalized in 1909, making it one of the earliest railway stations in Japan.
