The narrow path along the spectacular overhang of the Levada do Caldeirão Verde runs directly along the rock face, with the valley plunging far below. Here you feel the height particularly intensely, accompanied by the rush of the waterfalls and the lush green of the laurel forest all around you. This section is breathtakingly beautiful, but demands absolute sure-footedness and a good sense of balance on narrow, exposed paths.
