Before the inauguration of the cemetery, the deceased local Jews were buried in the Jewish cemetery in Ebern and in the Jewish cemetery in Kleinsteinach. A plaque near the cemetery commemorates the Jewish community of Schweinshaupten, which existed until 1935. The last burial in the cemetery was that of Math. Neumann on January 11, 1940.
