The vegetation of Lowlands Cove belongs to Black Crowberry (Empetrum nigrum) / Reindeer Lichens (Cladonia spp.) Dwarf Shrubland Association. It occurs on prominent, extremely exposed, middle, upper and crests of slopes in the Cape Breton Highlands.
