Dunluce Castle is one of the largest ruins of a medieval castle in Ireland. It is located on a basalt outcrop on the island's rugged north coast, between the towns of Portballintrae and Portrush in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Dunluce Castle is perched on an impressive basalt cliff on the rugged Northern Ireland coast. Even if the imposing castle ruins on the mighty rock convey an image of the idyll, its past, which was shaped by sieges and violence, is just as bleak. Today only old stories give an idea of what once happened behind the cool walls of the medieval castle.
