The Klein-Auheim Tistra Lake takes its name from the Hanau company TISTRA Bau, which used to mine gravel here. Due to its location directly adjacent to the "Untere Fasanerie" nature reserve, the lake is now important for bird life and nature conservation. It is owned by the city of Hanau, and a Klein-Auheim fishing club has leased large parts of the shore for many years.

I am not a Hanauer and I live in Bad Orb. It makes sense for me to look down on this industrial city from above. But it is really astonishing which gems (especially south) can be found near Hanau. Water, calm, peace.
