De Crobsche Waard is a special and unique nature reserve with a great diversity of plant and animal species. Located in the floodplains near Haaften, the creek area was created by clay extraction for the local brick industry. As a result of this activity, small and larger bodies of water arose, now bordered by a green wall of willow and black alder. In this way, the part north of “de kardam” is a maze of small green paradises.
