Opened in 1889, the Achensee Railway is the oldest steam-powered cog railway in Europe still in operation. The line begins at Jenbach Station, which, with the help of a cog system, climbs the steep slope to Seespitz on Lake Achensee. The station itself still houses historic railway equipment and steam locomotives, making the town a popular destination for railway enthusiasts.
