    Cycling

The Horst pumping station was commissioned in 1958 to allow water to drain into the Emscher River following subsidence caused by the Nordstern mine. Today, together with an additional pumping station built in 1980, it discharges rainwater into the Emscher and wastewater to the Bottrop sewage treatment plant.
