The Heidelberg Bridge Monkey is a figural representation on the bridge over the Neckar. Its history dates back to the 15th century (1481). At that time, a monkey was already sitting in the tower of what was then the bridge. A sculptural stone figure was destroyed with the bridge tower in the Palatinate War of Succession.
