Beautiful climb from the Elbe valley to the national park with a variety of hiking opportunities. In the summer months it can get a bit crowded in the small town, but there are numerous places to stop for refreshments and free and fairly clean toilets.

The climb to the Großer Winterberg is exhausting and you should have sturdy shoes. On the Winterberg there is something to strengthen yourself and for the descent take the Kipphorn view with you. In the Villa Thusnelda there are delicious 🍦.
