The Order of Discalced Carmelites completed the construction of a church on Via Untoria dedicated to Our Lady of Carmel, adjoining her convent. In 1802, after its demolition, the parish title of the church of San Pietro Vicina was transferred to the port. This old Church of St. Peter from 1543 to 1556 replaced the Cathedral (destroyed by the Genoese with the ancient city on the Priamàr). From 1684 the current church of San Pietro in Arcipretura was built.
