Embark on an easy hike around Lago Grande di Avigliana and Monte Pezzulano, a round trip covering 4.2 miles (6.7 km) with an elevation gain of 472 feet (144 metres). This route takes about 1 hour and 53 minutes to complete, winding through diverse terrain. You will walk along the shores of Lago Grande, pass through wooded hills of oak and chestnut, and encounter impressive erratic boulders left by ancient glaciers. From Monte Capretto, you can enjoy broad panoramic views that include the Sacra di San Michele and the Susa Valley.

This trail is largely accessible and well-maintained, making it suitable for most fitness levels, families with children, and even pets. While generally straightforward, be aware of slight ascents and a brief, more challenging equipped section near Monte Pezzulano that includes a 4-meter staircase. However, easier alternative paths are available to bypass this section if you prefer.

The route lies within the Avigliana Lakes Natural Park, an area known for its significant biodiversity, especially for aquatic birdlife. Lago Grande di Avigliana is recognized as one of the cleanest lakes in Piedmont, suitable for swimming and water sports. The area also boasts historical significance, with the nearby town of Avigliana offering additional sites to explore.
