We started in the borderland Germany - Denmark, southern Schleswig. The tour goes through North Schleswig, Denmark. I rode the full length of the Gendarmstien for the first time. Doable with a trekking bike, but a mountain bike is better. My friend true the Boy Scout. He rides the tour at least once a year. My comfort, his announcements: e.g. next curve, lowest gear, it goes up steeply straight away. Because of his knowledge, we stayed on the trail several times because it was nicer. But the official bike route is also beautiful.
