Hiking

The construction of a cable car on Massada was very controversial, as it changed the appearance of the site significantly, even if the mountain station was not "hidden" on the plateau, but in the rock underneath. It has also increased the number of visitors extremely.
Not all can cope with this ascent, the altitude and heat made it impossible to get to Massada, especially for older people.
The train overcomes a height difference of 290 meters over a length of 900 meters in 3 minutes.

Hiking

The train overcomes a height difference of 290 meters over a length of 900 meters in 3 minutes. In contrast to the original track, the current one has no supports, which enables a suspension system that completely encompasses the two suspension ropes and the pull rope. The new mountain station is also located under the plateau in the rock, but slightly higher than the old one and is connected to the Serpentine Gate by a gently ascending bridge. This means that barrier-free access is now possible; on the old railway, visitors still had to walk a serpentine path.
