The mill was called the “Schwekarts Mill” before 1790. The ancestors of today's residents already lived there around 1800. At that time a woman named Kehl married into this mill. Hence the name “Kehlenmühle”.
The old water wheel was on the gable side of the house. It was powered by a watercourse that ran beneath the current road. Shortly after the Second World War, the grinder rattled here for the last time.
