This unusual work of art is by the Danish sculptor Jens Galschiøt and was unveiled in the autumn of 2021 on the Copenhagen square Dantes Plads. The installation was originally intended as a provocative protest against a controversial underground parking project on the square, as well as to honor the 700th anniversary of Dante Alighieri's death. The center of the striking sculpture group is a Greek column with a clearly displayed middle finger gesture, surrounded by various bronze figures.
