"When the young wife of Count Carl von Brühl (Tina's son, forester, and general manager), Jenny von Pourtalès from Neuchâtel, was led into the valley for the first time by her husband in 1814, she is said to have exclaimed 'Ah, how beautiful!' at this very spot. A sandstone plaque bears the dedication: 'For Johanna and Moritz 1820.' Moritz was the couple's four-year-old son at the time. Eight years later, this eldest son died of scarlet fever in Seifersdorf.

To the left and right of the monument are large hazelnut bushes that frame this garden scene."

"'Ach wie schön' is an inscription in a sandstone monument embedded in a fieldstone wall on the slope of the Rödertal valley. A second carved sandstone monument bears the inscription 'Für Johanna und Moritz 1820'. This monument refers to the view from this vantage point. The 'Ach wie schön' monument was destroyed by the tornado on Whit Monday 2010 and restored in July 2011."
