The bronze figure of Otto Timmermann, a Travemünde character, holds a book, while two children sit on the fountain's edge, listening to his stories. The fountain, located in front of the old blacksmith's shop—now the parish hall of St. Lorenz Church—represents a horse trough. Otto Timmermann (who died on April 24, 2008) served as the church sexton here until 1978.
