The monument was erected by the sculptor and headmaster Hubert Spannring in 1898 in honor of Joseph Struber, the Salzburg freedom fighter. It is a kind of towering rock, resembling a block of stone, adorned with a bronze portrait medallion, which shows Joseph Struber. The image of Strubers is venerated by a sculpted young boy in leather pants with a branch. The Salzburg state coat of arms, carved from Untersberg marble, can also be found on the stone monument.
