The villa was built from 1913 to 1915 as a house for the family of the Gera textile manufacturer Paul Schulenburg. Van de Velde was also responsible for the interior design and the garden design. 1919–1920 the garden was expanded according to plans by Van de Velde's student Thilo Schoder. (Wikipedia)
