The Tour of Cap Ferrat Trail invites you to immerse yourself in the beauty of the French Riviera, winding along a peninsula where lush Mediterranean vegetation meets rocky cliffs and turquoise coves. Along its 9.2 kilometers, with an elevation gain of 97 meters, you'll discover the contrast between dirt paths and wilder, rockier sections, which sometimes give the landscape an almost lunar appearance, all while passing luxurious villas and the historic Cap Ferrat lighthouse. It's a moderate hike that will take you around 2 hours and 26 minutes, ideal for enjoying the coast without major physical demands.
To plan your visit, keep in mind that the trail is accessible year-round, but summers can be very hot due to sun exposure; be sure to bring plenty of water and protection. While some sections are easy, others require good grip due to uneven terrain and steps. The trail is well-marked, making navigation easy, and you can start at the Port of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, where you'll find basic services.
This trail is part of the Sentier du Littoral network, a series of coastal paths that allow you to explore the natural beauty of the French coast. What makes it special is the combination of dramatic marine landscapes with the opportunity to glimpse the opulent architecture of the area, offering continuous views over the picturesque bays of Villefranche-sur-Mer and Beaulieu-sur-Mer.
