I would definitely take a break for the Schovenhorst Estate. Besides a nice cup of coffee in the brasserie, the (literal) highlight of this place is the spectacular Bostoren. Climb the 235 steps and see Amersfoort, the Veluwe and the windmills in the polder from a new perspective.

The estate is freely accessible between sunrise and sunset. The Forest Tower can be climbed daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The view from the observation tower is worth it. The brasserie is also a very nice place to sit, although you are rarely alone - the quality is somewhat variable.
