Artist: Egbert Broerken
Egbert Broerken (* around 1950 in Hovestadt) is a German sculptor who is best known for his city models for the blind and visually impaired. By 2012 he had cast around 80 inner cities and individual objects such as churches and monasteries as miniature versions in bronze.
His models are created using the lost wax technique.

Haltern am See on a scale of 1:350 was cast using the lost wax process, coated with special wax and then placed on a sandstone base. Prof. Broerken developed such bronze city models for the blind and sighted 20 years ago, and he registered the copyright for them.
