The Wienerberg is an impressive recreational area in the 10th district, which extends over 117 hectares. It offers a variety of leisure opportunities and is particularly known for its skyline, which is characterized by modern high-rise buildings. The Wienerberg recreation area was created by the City of Vienna in the 1980s after an urban development ideas competition and a landscape plan. A characteristic and ecologically important biotope was created in the most populous district. It fulfills both nature conservation tasks and the need of the population for recreation.
