The main building of the university was built in 1891 according to plans by the architect Richard Plüddemann. It is part of the three libraries that make up the university library. There is also the new building and the collection of special writings in the Św. Jadwiga Street.

The main building of the University of Wrocław is located right on the edge of the Old Town and is one of the most impressive Baroque buildings in the city. Even from the outside, it is worth a stop for the monumental facade on the Oder.
Inside, with one ticket, you can discover several highlights: the magnificent Aula Leopoldina with lush frescoes, the Mathematical Tower with a great view over Wrocław, and the historic Oratorium Marianum. A visit is particularly beautiful in the late afternoon, when the light shines through the old windows and the building appears almost golden.
