Ernest Hemingway and the Great War are a structured and shared duo in the world. Fossalta di Piave remains, in memory, the battlefield where he was wounded in 1918. Enlisted as a volunteer as an ambulance driver for the US section of the Red Cross, his experience on the Italian front earned him the silver medal for military valor. Today, at the behest of the Municipality, an illustrated path runs through the historical memory of events and places.

In 15-minute film contributions from a German-language television series, Tilmann Spengler introduces the life and work of important writers and authors from all eras to the culture-loving viewer. One of the people he honors as a "classic of world literature" is the American author of "The Old Man and the Sea" (to name just the most famous work) and Nobel Prize winner for literature:

* Ernest HEMINGWAY (1899 to 1961).
