Carlos IV and his court were on their way to Barcelona for a wedding when they decided to stop in Alcalà de Xivert. A hunt was organized in the city of Castellón on the occasion of his royal visit; Exactly where the king stayed with his family is the Prigó del Rei, an obelisk that commemorates the royal stay.
