With a drop of 60 meters, an average of 250 m³ of water tumble downstream per second, making them the largest rapids in Scandinavia. The total length of the rapids from start to finish is 5 km, with an elevation difference of 82 meters. During the midsummer weeks, the water level is at its highest, with approximately 870 m³ of water flowing into the valley per second. The rapids area is a nature reserve that is well accessible via paths and wooden boardwalks. A forest workers' museum is also located within the nature reserve.
