Only the ditch dug precisely into the rock indicates that a castle could have stood on the eastern tip of a plateau above the valley of the Black Laber, between Eichhofen and Hillohe, just a few hundred meters south of the Egelsburg. There are no traces of buildings on the rocky area, which is protected on three sides by steep walls and slopes. It is questionable whether the castle was even built beyond the first, albeit very complex, entrenchment work.
