When you hear the word “Jordan”, everyone thinks of the river in the Holy Land and the phrase ... “Go across the Jordan”. But the place name "Jordan" is also used in Oldenburg, albeit without any biblical reference. The "Jordan" is near a lake - but this belongs to the Mühlenhunte, which was largely piped. The rest of the Mühlenhunte is now often seen as "Jordan". The "Jordan" was a triangular piece of land, which was flown around on the one hand by the Hausbäke / Haaren and on the other hand by the Hunte.
