St. Pankratius, the so-called village church, is located on Dorfstrasse almost at the end of the district of Vaterstetten in the middle of the old village that is still recognizable today. It is the oldest church in the municipality and was first mentioned in 1186. So it is over 800 years old. At that time the village belonged to the Tegernsee monastery, from the 14th century to the parish of Ottendichl. The nave of the church is made of tuff stone blocks in the late Romanesque style.
