A gorgeous country pub, the Greendale Oak still contains original features that go back almost 1,500 years. Expect hearty pub grub by the roaring fire and friendly hospitality.
The pub is named after an oak tree that was famous for its immense size, which is unfortunately now gone. The first Duke of Portland once had a 10-foot (3 m) tall arch cut out of the trunk to prove that he could drive a carriage through it.
